Easy "Chicken" Burrito

Yields: 1 people



  • Tempeh

  • 1/4 Avocado - sliced

  • Sweet (yellow,red,orange) peppers - cut into slices

  • 1 tbs soy sauce

  • Hot sauce

  • Crushed red pepper flakes

  • Onion powder

  • Brown rice

  • Tortilla (wheat or corn is preferred, but I like mine on white)

  • Cheese (optional - tastes great without)



  1. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, hot sauce, crushed pepper. Just a few shakes of each or adjust the spicy factor how you like.

  2. Cut 6-7 thin strips of tempeh from the block and put into bowl with sauce and let sit for just a moment.

  3. Remove tempeh from sauce, place tempeh on tortilla and sprinkle with onion powder. Discard sauce.

  4. Top with rice, cut peppers, and avocado.

  5. Sprinkle with a small amount of cheese if desired.

  6. Microwave the creation for 20 seconds

  7. Wrap burrito-style and enjoy!
